Now that we know a bit about what research IS, how do we get started? Well, even though there are a lot of types of research (interviews, surveys, etc) you’ll definitely want to know what was written about your topic first. So you’ll want to read a bit. But you don’t want to read just the first three hits on Google. You want to dig deeper.

This means you have to:

1. Find good sources (by coming up with good, specific keywords), and

2. Evaluate those sources (to make sure they’re good and fit with your project)

The library is a great site for help in both finding and evaluating sources! If you have questions, don’t be afraid to use the “ask a librarian” feature on the front page.
