- The platform I would like to publish in would be Love to Know (https://www.lovetoknow.com/)
- Love to Know has a variety of topics that they discuss on their page like food and lifestyle, but overall it’s like a lifestyle kind of platform
- I would say their audience is for adults. young adults, and parents due to the fact that they have more lifestyle topics that would pertain to an older audience. They also have a whole category about parenting on their page that would indicate that parents are a big audience.
- Their blog posts aren’t that long they usually bullet point some of their information and keep it short and simple
- They have a welcoming and friendly tone to their articles. It makes it seem as if they are actually willing to provide advice rather than judge your situation. This way it encourages the reader to look forward to reading their pieces.
- They use informative diction as well as casual. They make it sort of conversational and engaging by asking questions so that the reader can reflect on what they’ve read.
- Some of the posts use articles that may support their claims and they usually just name the article and embed a link into the word so that you click on it and it takes you to the article. They don’t normally use MLA format when they cite their evidence.
- The text and platform itself don’t use much color besides the pictures that they use as covers for their posts. Although it may sound boring in a way this makes it have a uniform look and it doesn’t take away from the actual advice and information that is being provided.
- I feel as though it would be a good place to reach my audience because I want to be able to reach parents who deal with kids struggling in their own faith and religious beliefs. I saw a publication similar to my topic but it didn’t really discuss many of the things I was discussing about therefore I think it would be a good way to provide a different perspective in that area.

For my Unit 3 I want to inform parents who struggle with finding the right way to help their kids who struggle or question their religious identity. I want to create a blog website that would help parents navigate the importance of facing these struggles alongside their children instead of avoiding said problems. By making a website it allows parents to access this information a lot quicker and easily due to the fact that most things are digital and online, it would also make it easier for them to gather information since it is a blog/website and not a long article on parenting since most parents don’t often sit around to read a book or article because they’re busy parenting. I think I want to include some problems that can be caused by religion as well as some solutions to said problems and be able to pull other stories from people who have also gone through these hardships with family due to religion, it might be a little difficult due to the fact that it would take more time to find credible people and sources in order to include that but it may be a good thing to include. I’m actually confident in my website building skills due to the fact that I’ve made some before but it is something that takes time and patience. More importantly, I would like to make this blog site a lot more informational than the ones that I’ve come across by including more helpful insight and shed light on the problems that are often hidden or frowned upon by religious institutions.
As the research concludes there are questions that may still arise. Religion is a powerful and complex structure that many may fit into but at what cost? Families all over experience some of the most universal problems and religious beliefs lie at the center of it. So, why is it not talked about? Contrary to popular belief, sometimes religion isn’t the solution to all issues that can range from self-identity to familial relationships and more. Sometimes being understanding and compassionate can lead to a better relationship within oneself and family. Instead, problems are often swept under the rug and labeled as fixed when in reality there’s more depth to it because some find comfort in hiding in their faith and letting a “higher power handle it.” Due to some negative connotations around religious institutions, some go as far as providing guidance to those who experience problems or doubts in their faith, but there is a fine line between helping and convincing, and some feed off of those who are lost. Therefore, this research may not have a definite conclusion but it can expand our knowledge of this complex atmosphere that religion has created and reduce the impact that it has on oneself but more importantly on familial relationships.
