Homework 11/2/23

For Unit 3 I would like to teach my audience the importance of Abortion. I would specifically like to target this lesson to those who are anti-abortion in hopes us expanding their knowledge and maybe even changing their opinion. Abortion has been a very hot button for centuries. Strong opinions flew left and right but On June 24, 2022, Roe V Wade was overturned. A right that so many women fought for. In Roe v Wade, Wade argued that a Woman’s right to privacy was not as important as the unborn child’s right to life. One can infer that Wade’s point pushes that an already grown living life’s right is not as important as one of a life that has not even begun yet and that says a lot. People are willing to disregard a woman’s life and rights for an unborn life which just shows how much women are disregarded, disrespected, and bluntly not cared for Roe argued her case with 5 different already-made amendments. She used the Bill of Rights that this country made to defend herself while Wade was using an opinion. An unborn life does not have living rights yet. It is that simple. I think the best Genre to write in to get my point across would be nonfiction because abortion is already a sensitive enough topic and I think it would be best to just state the facts get straight to the point and be as respectful as possible. to lighten it up I can even write poetry about it. Go on social media and bring awareness to it. Make a club for women who need support or for people who just want to open-mindedly understand. There are so many outlets to help people learn and understand. `The only thing I’m worried about is women or people who won’t feel comfortable speaking up, i want it to be a safe place for everybody to speak freely.

    Hey Gabriella,

I had the pleasure to read over your Unit 3 research proposal and I wanted to start off by saying I truly like the topic you chose. Although I know it is a very sensitive and delicate topic to discuss, not only the fact that it has been an issue that has been foughten for over many years. It is indeed one that is of major importance since it deals with the lives of women who at the end of the day are the ones dealing with the child. Your approach towards this subject through the non-fiction way I think was a good selection. One suggestion I do have is perhaps as well try to include the opposing side or what the contradictory side says in your writing and then include information to kind of shut down the pro-abortion side. However, you know what you are doing since I admire how well you formulated your Unit 3 proposal by including the Roe v Wade court case along with mentioning the outcomes of that particular case. I would suggest also elaborating on the people’s perspective on how the women felt towards this. After all, it is for them that they are affected by decisions over the abortion matter. Do not refrain from including some good information about abortion and the years that women fought over this matter. I feel that your Unit 3 writing proposal would perhaps fit best in the New York Times since it is a global controversy topic that many people like me would be fascinated to read on. I can’t wait to see how your Unit 3 writing turns out especially since the topic you chose is very great to research on/discuss. I wish you luck and nothing but positivity in your Unit 3 writing.
