The idea of having a socialist government in the US sparks controversy among residents. Research conducted by the Pew Research Center collected that “55% of Americans had a negative impression of “socialism,” while 42% expressed a positive view. About two-thirds (65%) said they had a positive view of “capitalism,” and a third viewed it negatively.” Americans who view it negatively might make connections where socialism didn’t work. However, those opposed to the negative viewers might feel like giving socialism a second chance might work. With this research, we can acknowledge that the majority of Americans disagree with the idea of having a socialist government.
