For unit 3, I want to teach my audience that we need to change the way high schools teach to help teens in the real world. The audience I’m gonna try to reach is the DOE since they control what they learn and what classes are in place for high schools. The genre I’m planning to use is a research paper since I’m doing this for the DOE. My first step in telling the DOE to help graduating teens prepare for the is to have a program to give teens internships in different jobs or facilities to teach them how to work, find a job, and handle a job and to have classes during their Junior and senior years teaching them how to handle credit and debt, also a class on how to afford a house or apartment. Most teens after graduation look for a job to have income for themselves and most kids struggle since they don’t know where to look or how to look for jobs, with the programs and internships they have a good understanding of how to look for jobs and how to do their jobs. My only concern with this project is how I can effectively express my paper to my audience.
