When Mike Bunn says that we already are authors I feel as if he is referring to our past in school. no matter what the majority of people have wrote essays in the past and have written things. and that can help when reading. when reading like a writer as he states we may ask ourselves would I use this? we can make the pros and cons of the writers when we imagine it in our writing. and also reading like a writer can help you to understand more and be more intrigued. the more I read this chapter the more intrigued I was to how the mind of a writer is. I started looking for attention catchers I looked for things I would use or can use. and it can help shape our imagination. the example of the architect and the guy who likes history is a prime example of shifting your imagination to whatever you’re reading. it’s like in school when I read that I thought of an argumentative essay and how both sides will read and react. you can either support it and find things to help your side of a debate or you can think of how you can counter it in a writing. Mike Bunn said we were authors because we can read things in different perspective, we can find out what the author meant by saying things and why they wrote what they wrote. a lot of assignments growing up was to find the meaning of what the author wrote or the hidden message and that’s what I think reading like a writer is.  I can use reading like a writer in my everyday life I can learn new words to help better my vocabulary as I read like a writer. something in Bunns writing that I would like to use for myself is relating myself to the reader or compare myself it can open my eyes to catch the reader’s attention more and for the reader to read what I write more carefully. I now feel like I’m going to read things differently from now on
