HW 1.4

One incident that changed my view in education was when the pandemic hit. I was a freshman in high school and everything was new to me, when the pandemic hit we all had to go remote. I wasn’t fine with the decision thinking it would be difficult to learn this way, but I was wrong. When we first started it was a little all over the place but with time I got used to it and I realized that online learning was way much easier then a in-person class. I was learning at my own pace and my own space and it was very convenient for me.

Another incident that changed my view in education was when I moved here in the U.S from the Dominican Republic. When I started school here I did not  know any English so it was a very difficult situation for me at that moment. With time I was getting the hang of it by reading books, talking with teachers and classmates, writing and listening to the language. Now I can say I’m almost a fluent English speaker.

HW 1.2

I think Mike Burn means by “You are already an author” is that everyone is an author in their own way and most of those people don’t even know it. I used to have a journal where I used to write stuff like about something that’s happening or about my emotions, It was like a place I could vent to. One day I stopped writing on there, I don’t know why but I think I should hop on there again because I remember it helped me a lot mentally and emotionally and it was fun as well. Everyone uses words on a daily basis. People communicate, sing, express themselves, resolve problems, people write and read. I think words are really important and a life essential. This would help me in my college reading and writing career in many different ways. I can expand my vocabulary and mindset in order to write and speak in a higher level. This can also get me to have a better understanding of things about my studies, work, and things around me as well. I know it would be a lot easier for me in the future, my next year in college, and my career if I put in the work as soon as possible.
