Immigration is something that has been happening all around the world for numerous years. This is such a large ongoing problem that is still going on now, and I’d like to learn more about it. As a result, my research topic is, “How have US immigration laws changed from the 1800s to the present?” This fascinates me because many people, including my parents and grandparents, go through immigration. Because we don’t have a strong background story of immigration, I believe this is something we as young adults should look into and learn more about. We simply learn from what we observe. What I’m looking for specifically is how the laws have changed over time, from the 1800s to today. I’m sure it’s changed a lot since I last saw it. I’ve been seeing a lot of information on immigration in the news, but I’m not paying much attention to it. I’d like to learn more about immigration and what crucial information we should be aware of. How did each law they enacted/changed impact/affect all immigrants? What made them change? These are some of the things I’ll be looking for as I do my research.
