Response

What was missing front the art of the past was to teachers for the future generations of artists. In very few instances there might be an apprentice situation but most of the time artists just created and then never thought to teach someone due to how art and education didn’t flow well together. You see a comparison on how if an engineer invents something useful others would try to learn about it for that invention to be expanded upon. The way I see it each artist is going in their creative direction leaving behind their works for others to see and follow if they so choose to. With no clear direction on becoming an artist, it’s easy to see why many people didn’t go down that path and so artist methods would become more scarce over time.

Typography, photography, and other media open up a whole new world for art to flourish. So many things artists can experiment with to express their designs along with being to practical use for the benefit of everyone, not just artists. For example, say a newspaper that would use typography to highlight the important article along with captivating photos to best describe what is happening. So typography, photography, and other media just work as another way to let people’s creative minds flow to work with what they have, whether it be a certain font or amount of letters they need or only a single setting to take a variety of photos. 

As for the role of language plates in art and design, it has to be able to reach a general understanding from a wide audience. I mean language I mean the message the artist or designer is trying to say with their work. If it is a personal project they can be a vague as they want but soon it will fall into obscurity since not many people understand it and would probably end up in some random textbook in the future. For a practical situation that involves a client, they need to have their work be as comprehensible as possible for just anyone to understand. 

New strategies and ideas that will be necessary for future art forms will depend on the technology in the future. Today thanks to the internet news can spread slot faster than it did back than 100 years ago and if it’s something that trends or goes viral then the whole world will know about it. Those future ideas would have to be flexible and be able to reach the masses to be remembered. An example could be having a whole website or social media profile with your work to be displayed and doing whatever it takes to get it popular like paying to have it pop up on other websites as ads or just having reeling interesting work that at a glance people would want to see more. 

Education or “the academy” should teach artists about their field so that they can learn techniques and strategies from those before them and be able to avoid mistakes that other artists have made. Along with seeing their work and maybe getting inspirations of developing their style.
