This video project didn’t really seem difficult to me, especially since I did mine on the Quik app. I wish we had more time to complete this project, as I had a completely different idea in mind. I would liked to have done it and edited it on the HIT FILM editor, but I didn’t have enough time to get all of the different videos and components together. After realizing that I wouldn’t be able to do the idea I originally had in mind, the most difficult part for me was conceptualizing another idea that was brief and could be done with what I already had on hand. Luckily for me, I take a lot of pictures of the cakes and other things I bake and sell! The quality isn’t great, but it’s because my phone camera is the worst at capturing detail and not looking grainy. All in all though, the project took me about an hour and a half to complete because I wanted to make sure that I chose a video setup that had some sort of dynamic movement to it, and it wasn’t just images sliding the whole time. The other aspect, the music, took me a while to get down because it felt like nothing fit very well with the images and I wanted something that was instrumental only. While the app is great, I’ve used it a few times before, it is very limiting in alot of the features so it does not lend itself to true customization. I actually somewhat like putting together videos though, here’s an example of something I’ve done in the past that I did spend many hours on because of having to edit the different videos into one, and the music with crossfades and all that good stuff. It was a headache, but seeing it come together was worth it. I would like to learn more about the video editing, but I feel quite nervous about all the technical jargon and aspects that come with it, as I feel completely lost! Despite that worry, I know that video can be a cool medium to mess around with and get creative with so I look forward to further exploration into the world of videos.
