Journal 8

Today I learned that patience is virtue. Ron had to step out of the office for a few and asked me to design a holiday calendar for the Bedford Hill Group. I wasn’t given much guideline except that David J. Adams (Founder of BHG) wanted snow on the bottom of the calendar and a snowman. I worked on finding and putting together color schemes. I also searched for a font that says Christmas. The hard part was yet to come. Since I’ve never created a calendar before I was making sure all of the numbers were lined up in sync with the days in 2015. I spent 3 hours just working on finding the right text and imagery. When Ron came back, he looked at the design and said he liked it but I didn’t have to type in the days and dates. I asked him why he said “I can generate that”. As I sat there stressing trying to make everything line up correctly, he could’ve saved me so much time if he would’ve told me that earlier. I laughed because I was getting frustrated. It’s a lesson well learned.
