Electrical Engineering Intern at Delos, NY

About: Delos Labs is looking for an Electrical Engineering Intern with interest and experience in IoT to work on development of a hardware and software platform that tests and demonstrates research outcomes in the indoor environment. This position will work with scientists and engineers in Delos Labs to design, specify, install, and program different IoT devices, and assemble them into a proof of concept platform. The person in this role will also have opportunities to develop innovative control algorithms for various IoT devices. The successful candidate should demonstrate great passion and knowledge in creating and testing IoT devices. This is a 3-month internship with the potential to extend to a full-time position. This position is located in New York City and starts immediately.

Candidate Profile & Prerequisites:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related fields
• Hands-on experience in electronic design, embedded systems, sensor technologies, and IoT devices
• Basic knowledge of control theory and algorithms
• Experience with professional documentation and strong communication skills
• Familiarity with data analytics and visualization systems
• Proficiency in a low-level programming language, such as C or C++, and coding/scripting ability in a higher-level language (Java, Python, Scala or C#)
• Experience with JavaScript, HTML5  and JSON
• Basic knowledge of databases
• Demonstrable coding skills, such as GitHub, Bitbucket or similar
• Publicly-available coding projects are a plus.

Compensation:  Pay for this position is competitive and commensurate with prior experience.
