To the Prospective Students of ENG1141,

My name is Ariel Itshaik and I attended ENG1141 with Prof. Penner in the spring semester of 2021. I am writing to you to not just recommend this course for you but to express from the bottom of my heart that if you want to take a fun class, TAKE THIS ONE!

Writing was always something I dreaded doing for many years of my life. As i grew up i never really understood how to create a piece of writing which regarded myself. It was very difficult for me. From the first assignment i completed in this class to my final reflection, the improvement is amazing. This class taught me to write better but more importantly become more confident with my writing.

Living through a pandemic taught me to become more technologically active and learning was much different than the regular in-school classes. However, Prof. Penner was very good at explaining our assignments. She set up the course in a way that makes it very easy for a student to follow. She is also very quick at responding to emails and is one of the best English teachers I’ve had throughout my entire school career and I highly recommend her as a teacher.

This class will shape the rest of my college career as writing is an important part of any course. Whether it be the small assignments we do during class or the major essay reports we must submit, the knowledge i gained in this class will follow me throughout my entire life.

I want to express my gratitude to Professor Penner, for all the help and experience she gave me with writing. Don’t think too hard about this course, just take it, because I guarantee you will love it!
