In the year 2020, a pandemic hit . During the time of the pandemic, Kelly sits at home as she is in quarantine. It’s been year since she has been home. Kelly lives in Brooklyn, New York. What is she doing? She’s in her room, on her desktop. She’s talking to friends and a cat via zoom. They all talk to each other, almost every day. Well at least they try to stay in communication often, when they are not doing online schooling or working from home. Ever since the pandemic hit, they haven’t been able to go out like how they use too. They use to go out to lunch, the movies, and the park. Her friends seem to be adjusting to the new normal pretty well and they are happy to see each other. Her friends all have bubbly personalities, and so does Kelly that’s why they all click. She wonders if the world will ever go back to normal or how she will continue to adjust to the new normal. Her dog keeps her company, as well as her family as they themselves try to continue to adjust to the new normal. Kelly’s favorite thing to do before quarantine, was to go to Manhattan and try new food and also shop. She doesn’t know when the world would go back to normal or even get back to how it was but she has hope. Hope that everything will get better and that everything would be okay!

Office Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM. I’ll be available through Zoom and will send an invitation via email that you should keep all semester. Try to join my meeting at the start of the hour, not at the end—since I may be talking to other students or have another appointment after the hour is up. If those times don’t work with your schedule, we can schedule a different time. This means you’ll have to schedule an appointment in advance. I suggest you have multiple times in mind, since your schedule may not mesh with mine!

I like that you were clear and specific on describing what’s going on. I also like how well you portrayed Kelly.
I liked your story, it was very relatable. Now since the pandemic we all can’t do the things we used to do. Seeing friends in person is such a big risk that sometimes it might not be worth it. Everyone is doing their part to stay safe and happy with all the events going on. I think that really showed in the story.
