“The First Day” is written using a lot of imagery for readers to make their own observations and opinions. Jones uses this by not directly telling readers what the exact setting is but by describing one’s clothing and from her observations. It is clear that Jones likes to use imagery as her way of writing because she also uses this to describe her feelings. I enjoyed Jones’ work because I could visualize everything described.
