Joining my group discord call to watch my friends stream some games yet again, it’s easy to forget how we all got together. Well, for them maybe but not for me. I owe many of my high school friendships to a old bud of mine. His name was Omar, although I haven’t spoken to him since high school I still owe him a lot. I’m the type of person who simply doesn’t feel like talking a lot of the time. I just like to go about my day without any intrusions. Nine times out of ten I wouldn’t approach you for any reason. This man was the complete opposite. He started talking to me at the start of freshmen year, even if I didn’t respond he’d still go on and on and on throughout our classes together. To this day I still don’t know why he bothered talking to me. It’s not like he didn’t have many people to talk to either, he had other friends but would keep talking to me. One day during class we all finished our work and our teacher gave us some downtime before the period ended. All I can remember was “hey guys this is Johar.” Wondering what this mad man was doing I was forced to introduce myself to more of his friends. Eventually as the days went on I found out I had lunch with some of these people. We ended up sitting together with a bunch of other people including the same lads in the same discord call today.. As we all started talking more and more I eventually crawled out of my shell which led me to speak more openly to everyone. Although we don’t talk anymore I still won’t forget the lad who made my entire high school life more interesting.

Office Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM. I’ll be available through Zoom and will send an invitation via email that you should keep all semester. Try to join my meeting at the start of the hour, not at the end—since I may be talking to other students or have another appointment after the hour is up. If those times don’t work with your schedule, we can schedule a different time. This means you’ll have to schedule an appointment in advance. I suggest you have multiple times in mind, since your schedule may not mesh with mine!
