Sheely Menendez, Gurba’s Critique

This piece was really interesting to read, she started really upset and aggressive, this really interested me because it felt like I started “in the midst of thing” which can be really captivating. While reading gurba’s paper, I came across to several thoughts first it felt that the entire writing was ranting about the situation and rating in in a bad way, but in a necessary way I personally think there was probably not a better way to address her feelings, while reading I though that she is must likely just letting all her emotions go out. This piece was also not hard to understand she was really straight forward telling the experiences she had with her culture, and at true the same giving the necessary amount of details they are times that it can be really overwhelming having to Much details unless you are trying to explain something specific, but for example her talking about how her roommate wears her clothes as a costume, is a great description to visually the mockery they are doing about her culture and why the anger she expresses in this piece,

I agree this was a great way to express her feeling and let her emotion be known to spread awareness of the situation. She informed people so they can stop assuming things about people and getting to know their culture is the best way to understand.

I agreed with everything you said and I liked how you used the example of how her roommate wears her clothes as a costume. This was really what Gurba felt about Cummins novel about Mexican immigrants.
