What I think about Patchett’s work, I really enjoyed reading her work. The way she goes into detail even with the littlest thing it really makes me seem like I’m there. The way she describes Lucy really shocked me because she has a messed-up face but was still the popular girl. When people think popular girl its some pretty girl or someone with a lot of money. Lucy was on a very tight budget. That was kind of surprise but I’m glad it wasn’t your typically popular girl. When say said “the little room to listen, her voice as small as it was when she directed us to the emergency exits on Friday nights, but more self-confident” I was able to be in that room when she was speaking her poem. Just one question why was lucy the only one talking about her life? Why didn’t the narrator also reciprocate the conversation?
