As I have said before in previous journals, I personally do not enjoy writing. Therefore, writing for me can be a bit difficult. Writing things like short stories and doing free writes can be difficult for me. This is because I find it difficult to start. Do I start with dialogue or by talking about the weather? I also find it difficult to find something to write about because I do not know what I should write about. There is too much freedom when it comes to writing short stories. However, I do have some experience writing short stories from middle school and early high school. So I am not too helpless. Push comes to shove, I will be able to come up with something to write about. I would much rather have specific topic or theme to write about. This way I have an idea on what to base my story on.
