Amna Ahmed, Chin’s Poem

I really liked Chin’s poem. Her poem spoke about a number of problems regarding black people and more importantly black women. She starts off talking about racism saying things like, “everyone is 70% water”, “according to human biology all bodies are created equal”, and “we all die after 7 days without water”. All these words are factual. They all show how humans regardless of race bare similarities through our biology. Chin also heavily spoke about black women. How black women are continuously being forgotten, shunned, and pushed to the side in favor of white women. Chin specifically says, “black women are still missing from the publics’s dialogue”. I definitely agree with this statement. Black women are constantly taken for granted because society pushes for white women instead.

    Good evening Amna,
Chin did give a lot of factual information before actually going to the main point of her poem. I think Chin did a great job mentioning how black women are continuously forgotten, and we can sense Chin’s anger through her words and body language.
