Robert Rampersaud, Chin’s Poem Discussions

Chin’s poem gave a great opening that all humans are made of 70% water, and all die in 7 days without drinking water. This was a great way to grab the listeners or reader reading the poem to continue to finish Chin’s poem. However, this was her way to prove that black women should not be afraid to speak up because all humans are created equally. I personally like Chin’s poem because her poem make you feel like you’re having conversation with her. Also, her poem is not difficult to understand compare to other poems that you have to listen or read it multiple times to understand what it is about. I also like when Chin explains how the ‘Me Too’ movement gain popularity by having a wealthy white woman sharing it on social media. Even when that was done, the black women are still silent about racism and rapist.

    Hey Robert,
I agree Chin used this poem to encourage black women to be comfortable with speaking on issues such as equal rights & racism.Chin uses this poem to help inspire women of color who may feel as if their voice doesn’t matter.

Hi Robert, your are right! This poem was very easy to understand. The overall message of it is that black people should stand up, they have had enough and now it is time for them to make their voices be heard.
