The transcript of the Declaration of Independence is composed of many paragraphs. In the first section, it mainly talks about how people have rights that they have acquired. If the government fails them then it is the people’s right to get another person to represent them in the government. It also talks about the King of Great Britain and how he didn’t rule as ethically as he should.Rather than being a role model he didn’t take care of his people well. The reason for this is to justify the reason as to why the 13 colonies of the United States of America should be separated and stopped being ruled by Great Britain. In the middle section, it talks about how the King of Great Britain has failed to rule over a country. They basically list all the different ways that he has failed his people and isn’t the right person to rule over the 13 colonies. Letting him rule over them one more second will only bring great conflict. The reason for this is to persuade the readers that it is time for the 13 colonies to be on their own, far away from being rules from Great Britain because they will only bring them down rather than uplift them. In the last section, they just talk about acquiring the right to be free from the ruling of Great Britain. The reason for this is to persuade the readers to leave them alone, but to maintain peace within each other. When the document states that separating themselves from Great Britain is the best option due to their wrong way of ruling due to many reasons it persuaded me to believe the same. It could be due to hindsight but I also believed that it was the best thing to do as a nation. In the article, “The Declaration of Independence annotated” written in The Washington post by Randy Barnett, he claims that “No government is perfect: all governments violate rights.” Not only do I agree with that claim but it also relates to some issues that the American society faces today. The american government tends to step on our constitutional rights. From time to time we are getting neglected to use our freedom of speech, right to a fair trial, etc.
