ENG 1121

The main purpose of the declaration of independence was freedom from the British empire, that’s why we celebrate the 4th of July.

  1. The declaration of independence started with the first section in which the 16th president Abraham Lincoln has set an example of fighting for justice.
  2. This refers to the article of confederation in which it states also America together and fighting for equal purposes known as freedom.
  3. This section mentions the bill of rights, which are the first 10 amendments, that grant civil rings to the citizens, for example, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom of the press.

This document bill of rights is persuasive because first of all it’s the first 10 amendments which grant rights to the people.

(Randy E. Barnett) mentions interesting points on how people used to gather up to listen every fourth of July to the declaration of independence. But, unfortunately, in today’s world, people don’t even know the second sentence. Also, I believe in today’s society people do fireworks and everything, and some people don’t even know why we Americans celebrate the 4th of July.

I also agree when he mentions that “People have the right to take back power from the government” by replying to a quote of any “form of government” because indeed if the government does not fulfill their duties they should not be in power.

The 8th quote is also interesting to me which he replied to a quote “But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same..” because he mentions the right of people and he also mentions ordinary violation.

One quote of this article which states which were put all together by Randy” first come right, then comes the government ” also “ the protection of these rights is the duty of the government”

These quotes explain the rights of people in which the government cannot disobey because these rights are from the first ten amendments and also called the Bill of Rights.
