Sylvana Rincon

I will be writing a letter to an advocate of woman’s rights. I want to bring up concerns about inequality in the construction industry. I believe that because she is a female and probably faced discrimination and inequality, she can identify herself with this problem. She can voice her opining in congress to help better women opportunities in the construction industry.

The reason why I decide to write this letter is because the recipient is a very competent person, who is a very knowledgeable and experienced in politics. She has been fighting for her believes and what is right.

Woman have been restricted from many rights; we have been discriminated. We have come a long way; many women have fought and advocate for our rights. However, even until this day we see how thing are not equal between woman and man such as in sports, jobs, salary. In the construction Industry only a small number of workers are females. Construction has been traditionally a male dominated career. And even for those few women in the industry, still suffer from sex discrimination; women are undervalued and perceived as weak. Also, women with the same position are payed less than if man. Additionally, of those women in construction, only a few of them get to positions like manager or executives.
