Text book:

Black Lives Matter by Sue Bradford Edwards

Reflection:

Through this reading I was able to see the indifference between African Americans and Americans. Leading Americans to take control of their freedom from the early 1780s, a few years after the Americans became independent from the kingdom of Britain in 1776.

Summary:

In this book I was able to see the superiority that Americans have over African Americans. A key story of this was at the start of World War II (1939–1945) where young African Americans were recruited, but were not trained, nor could they face the same enemies in the same group with Americans.

Other events were that African Americans did not have a seat for them, and when they tried to rest in a seat, many Americans made them get up from the seat for an American to occupy it.

Citation:

“The 1776 Declaration of Independence, one of the key founding documents of the United States, says “all men are created equal.” In reality, whites and African Americans have received unequal treatment throughout the nation’s history.”
