In “Allegory of the Cave” by from The Republic, by Plato, depicts a group of individuals who are likely meant to be students are chained prisoners inside a cave with many parts but a bright exit that’s in sight, the prisoners have limited movement for their necks and can see shadows pass by of objects due to a lit fire. The entire text is meant to be a metaphor for the education system how students must seek out the truth from administrator/teachers. The chains are meant to represent how if given the options can be broken off as to be set free. The shadows are meant to show that this information is available just not fully seen yet since it hasn’t been sought out yet. I don’t think the cave physically represents anything instead the cover from light which it makes is meant to show how these students are left in the dark. Lastly for the sun is meant to be the light which illuminates the cave so brightly that I can effect everyone in it (so some form of information which can drastically change multiple lives).
