In this reading, Plato describes the setting in a dark cave. The only light resource comes from fire above and behind this big dark cave. People have been living in this dark cave their whole lives, restrained, unable to see beyond the cave. These people have only the knowledge of what’s in this cave, they have no other knowledge beyond this. Plato describes them as blind and ignorant, for only wanting to see and know what they want to. Which I believe describes the world and human beings. Some people are not educated and are unwilling to learn the truth. Instead people chose ignorance, they turn a blind eye, because they refuse to believe anything outside their minds.
