Reflection #10

Think about a time when you joined a new group activity (maybe a team, religious retreat, club, or workplace). 

  • How did you feel when you first joined? 
  • Do you recall a moment when you felt like you were part of the group? 
  • What benefits did you get from participation in the group?

    1. Mostly a bit anxious, since I’m in a new environment.
    2. Yes, when I was in drama club and I was elected president. It made me really feel loved and part of the group.
    3. I got respect and kindness when participating and helping others in drama club!

    1. At first when I joined I felt a little left out because I joined a week later.
    2. yes, I had to play the main character in my drama class.
    3. I got extra credits and I also learned about the steps and what you have to do to be a Broadway actor. I also received An award for being the best actor.

    A. when I joined the basketball team I was happy because I get to play the sport I love.

    B. yes, because the team felt like family to me everyone would get along great. 

    C. I got to play against different teams in Long Island and along the way I was getting better at playing basketball.

    A. When I first joined I felt nervous since it was my first time in that environment.

    B. I felt like I was part of the group when they would include me in little things like talking about costumers or how we hated the hours.

    C. I got work experience and free food and deserts from the experience.

    1. When I first joined i was curious to see what it was gonna be like.
    2. A moment when i felt i was apart of the group was when i saw similarities in opinions of others w life in school
    3. Benefits is learning the ins and outs of exploring life on campus and the great programs and opportunities it has to offer

    I joined the step team when I was in middle school.

    • I felt excited but nervous because I did not know what to expect.
    • I remember when we tried to learn a step routine and i kept messing up on one part. some of the other girls on the team teamed up and helped me until i got it. that was one time i recall feeling like i belong
    • participation in the group helped me with togetherness and what it means to have a sisterhood

    A. Working my first job was pretty overwhelming and learning a brand new environment and feeling nervous.

    B. As time passed by I felt like I was in family with coworkers and bonding with them.

    C. I benefited for my job by becoming more social, active, and overall make me feel more confident in myself.
