Review your course syllabi. What does this information tell you about what you should expect this semester? Does anything interest you? Surprise you? Confuse you?

    I expect this semester to learn more about what is expected of me in college. The grading breakdown interests me because it shows what the assignments are worth. Nothing really confused or surprised me.

      I agree, the grade breakdown was interesting for me to read as well but allows me to see what is needed in the new school setting.

      Yeah, syllabi are pretty straightforward for the most part. It’s good to see what kind of your you will be doing though!

      The grade breakdown is always what I’m most concerned with because I’m usually praying that exams aren’t more than 50% of my grade.

    The information in the syllabus tells me that I should expect to be graded a little bit differently than I was in high school. There was no information that was surprising or out of place after reading the syllabus.

      I agree because college is way different than high school. In college you are expected to get a way higher grade than what u get in high school.

      Yeah in your first semester it’s pretty normal. Hopefully you’ll find syllabi that are more interesting as you move forward

      I agree with you, the syllabus helps us to know what to expect with the coming assignments and class sessions.

      That’s pretty much it. We all just want to know the grading breakdown to know what to focus on.

    This semester, I expect to learn how to manage responsibility as a college student. The required materials interest me for there are no text required to buy on this course.

      God bless classes that don’t have textbooks to pay for. The grading and textbook costs are the biggest concerns and I’m glad you don’t need to worry about that this semester.

      Yeah im really glad I don’t have to buy or carry around a textbook

    The information in the syllabus tells me i should expect much more responsibilities and that learning time management will be critical. Being able to see our upcoming assignments surprised because in high school we were just given a due date, we could never look ahead.

      Reading the syllabus also made me realize that I would have much more responsibilities with my courses and that time management is going to be key to get high grades.

      I agree, time management is a big thing in college. Also seeing upcoming assignments is a bit surprising like you said because that never happened in my high school. We were given at least a week to do something as a due date.

      Being able to look ahead is the best part because you know what to expect and you can even skim ahead to prepare for lectures which I find very helpful.

      I do agree that time management is important because of how certain proffers are and you don’t wanna fall behind .

    The syllabus tells me how to manage my time and give in my work in a timely and orderly manner, it also lets me know the dates of the exams which is helpful because then I would know that I should be prepared and be aware of the upcoming test. It helps me organize properly. Nothing really surprised me from the syllabus.

      I agree the syllabus helps mange our time with it comes down to doing assignments and it helps break it down bit by bit.

      Knowing what’s ahead and planning ahead is the best way to make sure you do well in all your classes. Glad to see you’re already looking ahead!

    The Information in the syllabus tells me I need to have much more responsibility getting things done on time. I should expect to be graded differently than high school.

      Yes! High school grading is different from college grading. Some of it is fair, some of it is not so my advice is study the syllabus. It can help you get a better idea of what you need to do.

    The syllabus gives me an idea on about what topics will be covered weekly and when exams will take place. It interests me how different professors have different late policies while others are more lenient with it. What surprises me was the grading policies because for most courses the exams are worth 50% to 80%.

      We have to study a lot because it appears like some teachers are stricter than others and exams very much have an impact on our grades.

      Yep, exams are a lot more important than a lot of things sometimes. I recommend prioritizing what you need to study and focus on in class.

    The syllabus shows and tells me what is expected of me in the course. It tells me how I should act and behave. What interests me is the breakdown of the grading between assignments. It interests me because, it shows me how different assignments are weighed and graded. But nothing surprised me or confused me.

      I agree as between other classes every teacher seems to have a different grading policy causing their to be a strict way to act to get those assignments in to get the best grade possible.

      It is important to understand which assignments are worth more and impact your grade more. You do not want to stay up all night working on an assignment worth 5 percent of your grade instead of studying for a final exam.

    The syllabus shows me the breakdown of what we will be learning throughout the semester as well as important dates like tests and assignments that are due. This helps us manage our time more effectively and be prepared for when class starts. Overall its very helpful because it provides a lot of information, like the teacher’s email, office hours, policies, etc.

      Perfect! The syllabus can allow you to schedule your time properly and can allow you to be successful in that way and even get you ahead of the class.

    The syllabus outlines the expectations for this curriculum. It directs me to instruments that I will need throughout the course and allows me to locate devices such as your office ours and email so I could ask questions and other things when needed. I like the fact the syllabus is a big help with organization as it creates an easier way to navigate without extreme confusion. Nothing surprised me from this syllabus.

      That’s great! The syllabus should not confuse you but instead guide you and what you need to do to help you better understand things in your classes.

    Reading the syllabus made me realize that I need to have more time management between school and personal life as the assignments have a certain due time and with not that much time in-between days to really get it done much more fast paced I guess. Nothing really surprised me or confused me as I guessed this is how college would be.

        The syllabus shows me what we will be learning every week throughout the semester as well as important dates like tests and assignments that are due . This is helpful because I won’t fall behind and I will always be prepared for what’s coming up next . It also allows me to contact proffers if I’m running late to class or not able to come in or need help understanding something . Nothing surprises me or confuses me .

      Time management is a great skill you learn in college as it is a skill that will carry over in your future. The syllabus can help you start managing your time by letting you know what will happen and gives you a timeline to follow.

    From reading my syllabi, Ive figured out how im going to manage my coursework and study for big assignments.I’m just expecting the weekly assignments and larger exams. I am a bit interested in doing more of the quizlet for biology but im not surprised by anything really.

      Thats great! as long as you know how your time is going to be managed and read the syllabus you should be prepared for your class.

      Perfect! The syllabus is your guide to each specific class you will have. It can give you a big advantage most of the time if you use it.

    The information on my syllabus shows me what is expected of me as a college student, how my courses are structured. It shows me important dates like when assignments are due & when we have exams. This helps students be more efficient & manage our time correctly so we don’t fall behind & gives us time to study for our exams

    Reading the syllabi I now know what is expected of me and how much work I am going to be getting throughout the year. I think this is great as it will help me with my organization and now I know which classes to prioritize over others

    Things i expect to learn at the end of the semester is to fully adjust myself as a college student and know how things get done by then. Also you have to stay on top of work because everything is basically layed out to you your exam and so forth.

    Looking at the syllabus, I see the ground rules for the class and I’m expected to learn about what the school offers. I see the grading policy for the class and how we are being graded and what’s expected of us.
