This week I have purchased a usb power supply that our group could possibly use to power Arduino and a few LEDs. This is the unit, http://www.amazon.com/EasyAcc%C2%AE-10000mAh-Portable-Smartphones-Bluetooth/dp/B00BJCHH36. It has two usb ports where one outputs 1 amp and the other outputs 2 amps. I was hoping it would be a bit lighter but it has a slim form factor that can easily slide into a blazer pocket.
The power supply is a big obstacle because of the weight it will add to the blazer. I think it would be a good idea to have multiple power supplies that would even out the weight of the blazer. Another idea was to use 12volt batteries and power the LEDs with them.
As for audio, we are looking into the electret condenser mic from Radio Shack. Though the first store a group member checked said they have them but don’t know where they are. My nearby store also says they have them in stock online but it probably will be the same case, and I may just order them online after checking them later on today.
wow, great idea to use this power supply! I thought there is no way to power up Arduino through the USB port (besides computer of course). For our project we are going to use a 9V battery that goes to the Arduino’s power plug.
I saw some great fashion using LED’s but I can’t figure out how to insert them into comments!
I was online looking for some microphones the other day and I found this really small mic that I ordered. I was thinking since you guys are talking about microphones maybe this could help.
