The Death Penalty of Death & Execution

The death penalty can’t be the equivalent of a murder ever because that would it would be like repeating the crime again. The death penalty could be as severe as lethal injection because they do still dying off. The death penalty shouldn’t be abused in the court of law because many murder cases can revert to people who might want to die. The death penalty doesn’t withdraw any emotion from the victim’s parents and family they would still feel the pain. It is wrong to take a human beings life in general with or without the law.

The purpose of the reading was to bring attention to others that the death penalty survived in the society we live in now. Now there are many opinions on the death penalty staying in society even though dismissed in some states.

Why was the death penalty carried on for so long in different states?

One thing that had caught my attention was the effectiveness of the death penalty hadn’t been what I suspected if people have the mindset to still kill innocent victims. I don’t think that the death penalty scares many away from committing serial murders.

Shitty First Drafts

The key items that I had observed while reading this passage was the importance of a first draft dealing with how to shape your final essay from a poor first draft that had been written just to get a main idea across. There shouldn’t be any more than 3 drafts in order to fulfill what an actual paper should look like. The author expresses herself by saying that she also has a hard time writing and the only way she can get into the groove of completing a well piece is to write a poorly written first draft. The author had a used strategies on her first drafts such as writing about the same topic for three pages. To excel at writing we should definitely have more than just one draft, and on the first draft collect many ideas to gain more thought process to do better.

While reading things that had caught my attention on the authors past events with rough drafts were how she would attack the paper .The author would start and wouldn’t stop until finished all beginning with the warm up sentences to the last page of her piece.

What was Anne Lamont’s drive to keep rewriting drafts from the start?

The purpose of the this reading was to explain to the reader that writing isn’t easy and it takes time and the more you can revise the better the outcome of the work.

While reading the article one thing that made sense to me as a  reader was breaking barriers in order to perform better from practicing with top sports people. Using practice can lead you pass what you want to achieve in life whether sports or remembering something .I can relate to this because practice is a mind game to enhance your learning of a certain objective . In the article using many references with sports to in the book study or practice. Everything that you want to perform better in you need practice. It matters how hard you practice because you can practice for 10 years just as hard as somebody who practiced for 15 years and still be as good .It also matters on the amount of time you practice that can make you better than you once were ,all with experience. I agree with the purpose of the article to practice to maintain and achieve .

Midterm

ESSAY#2

The Neighborhood in which I live in I could call it home because, I know everything that is around me and how everything is. So close by I don’t get stared down while I walk down the block, and people know me as the correct person I am .I could actually find people who even think about the neighborhood just like me. Even though it is not as much heights to see but im more grateful for living around houses .The Park is close by, things are so compact, it’s so serious that I can go from my house to the park in less than 10 minutes. Than be in time square where you would have to take a train or bus to travel to the closest park that is for sports in general. It’s not as much security in the part where I live compared to 42nd street. I like the food spots by where I live not because of the cost but because I could switch it up and its more closer to me

Times Square is a place you could run into to anybody surrounded by people of all different types of culture, 42nd street is nothing but sightseers. I walked by as people would take pictures of the tall building or all the advertisement. One thing that really caught my eye when I visited was March Madness college basketball supporters came out and actually set up a court for people to play basketball while its nothing but advertisements in the background I had to play because it actually felt like I was playing in a little recreational park while others were watching and anybody came on the court to take shots people in suits basketball gear it didn’t matter. It is nice being in time square because you can tell the difference between the city and a town.

In the story “remembering my childhood ” what I had found interesting in this was how the author tells the story from a young age to a older age speaking about key experiences in his life that had changed him and made him think about things different because of his situations he had been put in due to his family .I found it hard to understand how fighting for your life even though you had things you want is better then moving into more civil environments .

I noticed that he had a change of setting almost every paragraph ,The story had been based main on his side of seeing things with his own struggles ,comparing what had to what he had at the moment and realizing how much he had missed his homeland .Also learning the process of growing up.

In the story “remembering my childhood” while I was reading I had noticed Hugh (main character) had been telling his story about growing up since he had been 7 giving out a lot of detail on his experience on how his life was more interesting because of things that he had owned and the way how his family lived ,while when older he had went to new York where he had said himself it was a “roughned experience” for him even though he had to fight to survive daily in Africa while he only spent 10 days in new York . Hugh had been moving from place to  place such as Kentucky , North Carolina , Ethiopia , from family to family dealing with different surroundings .While he had wanted to be back home ,which had been the life he was dreaming about .

In this short story “Mother’ Tongue” I had analyzed how the author had explained their history with English and how the mother had also had a good experience with English .The author growing up trying to learn English was rough from talking to her mother with the English that she only knew raised outside of an English culture. People wouldn’t understand her mother as much as she could .The author had a timeframe of memories at a young age describing the way how she was taught English .
