The article discusses how Peril does have a slight bias as Biden is often spoken with a level of respect and dismisses Hunter Biden’s drug use and rehabilitation while it can show Trump’s wrong. This is a prime example of media being a watchdog. Journalism should stay unbias and simply report what happens. Later in the article it explains Trump and Biden, their different personalities and relationship with staff.  It states that Trump has his good qualities yet is often overwhelmed by his terrible impatience and incompetence.   On a similar note, the article states how Clyburn endorsed Biden and helped him get black/ African American votes. It highlighted things to the readers that was not public. It also mentions how Trump reacted to this “treason” as Clyburn acted in order to prevent war from starting.  This puts Clyburn in a better light and shifts the conversation to what coulda been and gratitude from some readers for his endorsement and sudden shift.

The article itself was very interesting as it stated the book Peril in a matter of fact tone. It does not overly praise the book nor does it undermine it. It is written to inform the reader of what is in the book and based on such take a decision whether or not the reader wants to purchase the book or not. Even if the reader does not buy the book, it gives an informative overview.

In a post, respond to one of the key points the article makes and/or give an example from the media that relates to one of these “essentials.”

One of the key points from the article that I’ve read so far is “journalist truth” and another key point would be personal conscience. The “journalist truth ” is a process that begins with the professional discipline of assembling and verifying facts. It is a good way to start out as a journalist and to be able to write a news, articles, and etc. with the truth.  Lying and making things up to stay relevant as a journalist would lead to a down fall or even losing reputation if everything in the news or articles is nothing but lies. The truth is the key to show how professional you can be as a journalist. Lastly, the second key point personal conscience, and as a journalism, whether if it’s a professional writer for a news organization or as an online contributor in the public space, the most important thing is to involves personal sense of ethics and responsibility. Providing news is important when it comes to being a journalist. As self realization, this also provides the responsibility of a journalist and shows that they have a voice that they want people to hear out loud and connecting to the audience. News organization also help nurture the writers independence and it encourage them to speak for their mind. As for employees it is always important to asked for any errors they have make to correct themselves and analysis the mistakes they’ve done, so they can  become a better journalist, for their boss.  These are a few of the key points that show how essential being journalism is.

1) One of the articles that I found interesting was ” Can Afghanistan’s leading Broadcaster survive the Taliban?” In the article it talked about journalist and cameraman in Afghanistan were attacked, for example in the article it quoted that “Ziar Khan Yaad, a Tolo journalist, and a cameraman were beaten by five Taliban at gunpoint while out reporting on Wednesday.” It also said Taliban fighter also hunted down another journalist, Deutsche Welle  the German broadcaster, who had already left the country. The Taliban also have barred at least two female journalists from their jobs at the public broadcaster Radio Television Afghanistan. Now everyone in Afghanistan who are journalist including the women are terrify at this situation and they began to flee the country.  That also include  many other Afghan social media influencer have deactivate their twitter and Facebook account, which captures my attention.

2)  One of the writing strategy I have noticed that was used by the author would definitely be the interview line strategy. The author highlight bold between Ebony and Eden’s conversation. Ebony was asking question and Eden is answering the question. I think it’s helpful for the student journalist , and of course in order to become a journalist  you have to narrow down where you want to start and who do you want to write about. So the interview writing strategy is really helpful when it comes to becoming a journalist, because you’re also picking up information from the person you are interviewing.  That also include pictures of Eden Bridgeman Sklenar, which makes the news and article more interesting. The author of this article also include a huge capitalization in the beginning and quoting Eden Bridgeman’s line as a writing strategy.
