This is a re-make project for the short story “The Fat and the Thin by Chekhov.
The action takes place on a train station when the Fat and the Thin meet in shock realizing that they were schoolmates in High-School and have not seen each other for more than 20 years. The Fat asks the Thin what he has been up too and the Thin starts to explain in great details his life. That he has a family and is very poor, he has two jobs and on the side he makes wooden cigar boxes and sells them and even gives discount if someone buys 10 or more. Then the Thing asks the fat what he has been up too and the Fat tells him that he is now a spy for the government.The Thin is in a shock and devastation, his face, body statue, voice tone change, he is in fear. He starts calling the fat with words such as Your Highness. By the end hi is a completely different person and the fat looks with such a pleasure while the Thing is crawling.

Re-Make
I would set the story in Communist time Russia and will be a short film. They will meet again in the train station and they will be again The Fat and The Thin. They will meet and realize that they were together in High School. The Fat asks the Thin what he has been up to and the Thin goes on how life is hard but he and his family menage to get by because of him. He has a regular low-pay job but on the side he is a sells person 9he says is with a slide whisper). When the Fat asks him what exactly he sells the Thin looks around the train station if someone is listening and whispers, “drugs”.
There is a pose for few seconds and the Thin says ‘Well enough about me. What have you been up to all those years? Where do you work?” After a great pose the Fat looks at him in the eyes and coldly says, “I work for KGB”.
The camera spins around the Thin who looks as if he has shrink in size. His face becomes white, his back hunches, he is trying to say something but only few indistinct sounds come out of his mouth. The fat taps him on the shoulder and says, ” Don’t you worry, you secret is safe with me. Do you still live in the same address as before”.
Now the Thin becomes even more thin, his eyes appear to be twice as the normal size. We cuts to a wide shot of them in the train station and The Fat taps again the Thin on the shoulder and just when ready to walk away The Thing grabs the left side of his chest with one hand and falls on the ground motionless.
