Congratulations! Aaryan Nair (Class of City Tech ’23) for winning the Belle Zeller Scholarship 2022!

Congratulations to Aaryan Nair (Class of City Tech ’23) for winning the Belle Zeller Scholarship 2022!  The Belle Zeller is given to a handful of students every year for exceptional community service in the field of study.

Aaryan is a Mechanical Engineering Senior, with a focus on Alternate Energy and Sustainability. He had been working  for the past 2 years at the Composite and Bio Materials Lab (CBML) under Prof. AKM Rahman, publishing research on socially conscious projects such as alternative energy sources, and safety features for wind turbines. Under the guidance of Prof. Masato Nakamura, he had also designed a biodigester that converts human waste to energy, which could be hugely resourceful in remote locations and developing countries as a part of CUNY’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental policy. Aaryan also won the prestigious ASME mechanical engineering NYC scholarship in 2021.
