We’re living in an age where everything is constantly evolving our media, technology how we interact, etc so it makes sense for museums to want to be flexible with their identity. The contents in a museum are constantly changing and shifting so it’s appropriate that their identity should be the same. Variety in content keeps visitors engaged and wanting to come back for another visit because what they saw their first time there most likely won’t be the same on repeat visits.
My name is Jonathan Valero I am part of the COMD department I am currently focusing on graphic design. I chose to come to this school because I actually want to be a video game developer but that felt like too niche a job so I figured I could get a degree with a larger net. so I just hope I continue to learn new skills from this course for the future.
A point that I disagreed with in the video is that logos should be timeless I feel that a logo should be able to send the message it wants regardless if it’s timeless or not. As time moves forward there will always be new markets to pursue and corporations shouldn’t be afraid to change with the times. Being timeless is safe but it leaves companies at risk of being left behind by whatever is new and hip in every generation.
