In the article “Schools Are Killing Curiosity”: why we need to stop telling children to shut up and learn by Wendy Berliner is about how student are discouraged in asking questions and taking risks. The author of the Hungry Mind and a leading international authority mention during one of their observations, a girl asked a simple question but was told no questions in class. American researcher in 2013 mentioned that many students are not likely to ask questions in class. Questioning in class is viewed as a potential danger to their performance. Berliner shows us a scene where the teacher takes away the toys and replaces them with day accessories to promote curiosity. Berliner concluded her article by talking about professor of neuroscience and education Paul Howard-Jones. About how students should be encouraged to ask more questions in school rather than discouraged and tell them no questions in class.
