paragraph 7 “The more I read, the more I was led
to abhor and detest my enslavers. I could regard them in no other light
than a band of successful robbers, who had left their homes, and gone to
Africa, and stolen us from our homes, and in a strange land reduced us
to slavery. I loathed them as being the meanest as well as the most
wicked of men”.
The more I continue to read the more I was led to seeing enslave people as disgusted and intensly hated. I can’t seem them any other way but as robbers who left their home and come to Africa to steal us from our homes and force us into slavery. I seem them as being the most meanest and most wicked men.
I believe this quote is important because in this paragraph he’s learning how to read and as he’s reading and learning, he’s understanding the reason why he’s in the situation he is right now.
part B:
A hard thing during my educational journey is being distracted during easily. i am the type of person to get distracted very easily, it can be a simple noise or just background conversations or even sometimes spacing out and overthinking. I feel like this has affected me in my educational journey because its prevent me from staying on task of my work, when lessons are being told in class or even if it’s just reading.
A method I do when I know i’m about to space out is I take deep breathes this helps me clear my mind from overthinking and helps focus better and not get distracted. A second thing I do is I talk to myself before class or even in the moment and tell myself to stay focus two times this method works very well for me especially days where I get only few hours of sleep.
Part A highlights the impact of education and reading on his perception of slavery and its slaveholders. The quote also highlights the growing anger and hatred towards slavers and how education allowed him to see the truth. Very good analysis of the quote.
In Part B, the challenge of being easily distracted is a common problem for many students, including myself. This can be an obstacle in the educational path and prevent you from staying focused on your work. However, the methods you have developed are effective ways to overcome this challenge and stay focused.
