Wendy Berliner is an award winning journalist and author of two books. Berliner’s objective in her writing is to provide a superior way of educating young minds. She is an advocate to provide the best for students in a poorly structured educational system. Berliner’s feature article “Schools Are Killing Curiosity : Why We Need To Stop Telling Children Shut Up And Learn” is aimed for educators within the system in order to propose a change for the learning style of young students. In her article, Berliner organizes the structure in order to appeal all kinds of readers. Berliner provides research from credible institutions, such as: University of Michigan CS Mott Children’s Hospital, Center for Human Growth, Williams College, and Bristol University. Berliner includes an anecdote of a reformed nursery school switching their objective of children using the most basics objects and using their imagination to play in order to demonstrate the success the effect imagination on curiosity. With the support of images, Berliner can show how joyful the children look during their time in the nursery school.
