I have outline below how some aspects of the class will change. PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ THROUGH IT ALL.

In order to create a flexible learning environment I will be setting up a couple of tool that will allow our class to efficient conduct class, share information and ultimately continue the learning process with as little disruption to our daily lives as possible (Trying not to add any more disruption than already). This may take a little getting use to but I am confident that we will be able to achieve the same learning outcomes. This is a work in progress and we will have to change things that aren’t working and maybe do more of what is, So please be patient.

    CLASS SCHEDULE
It is the intention to continue to hold class during the normal weekly schedule, Tuesday and Thursday 10:30-12:35. I will be scheduling activities, assignment reviews, video conferences, demostration, etc during these times.

    PARTICIPATION
I need to emphasize the importance of continued active participation in the course. Students will continue to be accountable for participating in required classwork and completing assignments and exams. The expectations and learning objectives will still be the same even though we have moved to an online structure.

    ATTENDANCE
Attendance will be taken either by participation in video conferences or by submission of assignments or any other class activities.

    ASSIGNMENTS
Assignments will have minor changes. Assignments will be allowed to be submitted on multiple sheet instead on 1 single large sheet. Assignments will still need to be scanned and posted to DropBox. Assignments will continue to be drafted, however, the 1 or 2 of you who do not have accees to a drafting table and a paralliner or T-square, you can continue to utilize the Architecture Department Lab as they will remain open with modified hours (schedule will be forward once they are posted). If you do not feel comfortable coming to campus, the assignments will be allowed to be Free Drafted. You will be allowed to freehand draw the assignment but you will still need to use straight edges and a scale to maintain dimensional and geometric accuracy.

    READINGS/NOTES
Readings, when assignmed, will continue to be required and taking and submitting notes on the day they are due continue to be imperative as we will continue to have discussion of the subject matter. Failure to complete the reading, notes and participation in discussion will result in a lower grade. There may be other activities used to measure engagement of the reading.

    OFFICE HOURS
I will continue to be available during my office hours (Tuesday/Thursday 9:30-10:30) via Email, Remind, Video conference and by phone. With that said, Feel free to ask any question at anytime and I will try my best to address any concerns or questions as quickly as possible.

    REMIND
In order to facilitate continuity in communication I will be inviting everyone to REMIND it’s a messaging app that will allow us all to maintain communication with each other. especially when someone has a question about an assignment or reading or a discussion in class. I will be able to answer the question quickly and know that everyone has access to the same information with out having to send emails to multiple emails. It will also allow me to schedule class activities and notifications. You will receive a link to set up an account in a separate email.

    VIDEO CONFERENCING
We will be conducting parts of our class using video conferencing. you will have access to this on a computer or a smart phone. These will be schedule at the beginning of each class, unless otherwise noted. You do not need to set up an account just use the link that will be sent to you. I will be either using ZOOM or BlackBoard Collaborate Ultra.

I WILL BE SCHEDULING A TEST VIDEO SESSION ON TUESDAY AT 10:30 AM (OUR REGULAR CLASS TIME) TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE CAN CONNECT AND MORE IMPORTANTLY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS ANYONE MAY HAVE REGARDING WHAT THE PLAN IS FOR THE REST OF THE SEMESTER. MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO BE AVAILABLE FOR THIS IMPORTANT FIRST VIDEO CONFERENCE. INVITATION WILL BE SENT VIA SEPARATE EMAIL.

These are resources available on our website for students.
