After reading the articles, I learned about a different form of news media called zines. I never knew or heard zines before these readings and basically its a form of the modern magazine, except it’s not produced for commercial/profit reasons. Zines can be produced by anyone who wants to write about a topic or number of topics, but does it for every other reason except to make profit. They are also not as easy to find, since they are not typically sold in stores. Instead, they are distributed by word of mouth or networking. Since zines are a hard copy of information on a topic or topics, it seems they may not be produced any longer. Blogs seem to be the new form of zines, since anyone can make a blog on virtually any topic and it also doesn’t cost any money to make and distribute, like zine does.
