Throughout history, media would not have many opportunities to grow if it were not for the development of new technologies. For instance, photography did not make an impact until Samuel Morse introduced it to American newspapers in 1839. Morse described photography as “one of the most beautiful discoveries of the age” after witnessing it during his visit to France. Now newspapers with pictures are able to explain their story more effectively than they were before. Another development to the growth of media was the invention of the wireless which set off the use of radios and radio news reporting. Later on, the radio media would evolve further into television media. In addition, the Internet and the World Wide Web helped media grow further as many news articles are posted online where anybody can read. Without the development of new technologies, media would not have expanded further as it is now.
