learning log #12

For these photos I had to get in close because they’re headshots. I had the shutter speed at 200. In addition for the white background There was a light towards the back and two lights towards the subject. For the black background there was a light at the front side and one over the head.

For this class we focused on movement. For the first two photos I kept the shutter speed at around 1/25 of second and as I took the photo I moved slightly. For the last two photos I kept my shutter speed at 1/200 and 1/500 of a second and I also used the tripod.

For this learning log we shot outside and also used a speed light. To get these photos I had to first set the settings to be a little underexposed so that way when the light fires the image will come out alright with the flash and the natural light. Also, I had to make the aperture the highest it can go so the subject would standout and show some depth.

learning log #8

This is a PSA for anxiety and depression. To get this image I used an ISO of 100, the shutter speed was at 1/160 and the f-stop was at 9. For the lighting, there was only one light used that was coming from the top corner. This allowed for a dramatic mood.

Learning log #7

For this shot I had a black back drop and one light coming from the right side. Since the photo is for a magazine layout I had to keep remembering to shoot vertical. Also, Time magazine tends to have dramatic theme covers so I kept that in mind.

learning log #6

To get the images on the white setup, we used three lights, two umbrella lights at the side and a back light. For the images with the black setup there was two lights being used and I found placing them to the back and sides made the light reflect better with the glass. For the white setup the brand logo on the product was shown better compared to the black setup.

learning log #5

For these two photos we had the shutter speed at 15 sec. and the aperture at F14 and we kept the iso at 100, this allowed us with enough time to capture the light art. Also when writing letters I had to write each letter the opposite way because writing it normally would have the letters flipped.
