So my first networking event I decided to go to will be New York Comic Con 2016. I have been attending NYCC since 2013. As soon as I found out it can be used as a networking event, I was very excited. I have already purchased my 3 days tickets (Friday, Saturday and Sunday ) back in June. The requirement for this specific event is that I have to attend a panel.
The panel I decided to go to is call Visual Storytelling: Creators Demonstrate Page Breakdown. This panel is strictly about how to structure a comic book from the start to finish. The panel contain speaker by Sean Chen, Fabian Nicieza, Paul Mounts, and Jerry Ordway.
The overall experience of this panel was informative. Being the early panel (11am to 12pm), it was not boring at all. It’s pretty active because we have two artist, Sean Chen and Jerry Ordway, standing on opposite side of the room to demonstrate each of their technique in creating a comic storytelling. Then we have Fabian Nicieza in discussing his way of script storytelling. As well as giving his perspective of how Chen and Ordway approaches their creation.
