The World Central Kitchen’s mission is to prepare meals for those in need, in hopes to find a solution to end hunger and poverty. This organization was created to provide opportunities and lift communities. The WCK serves meals to those in need and has expanded in communities in The Bahamas, Guatemala, and U.S. Virgin Islands. These communities have been affected by devastating incidents, suffering severe conditions and WCK reached out to help. The organization’s plan is to help those people affected by these incidents with thousands of meals across the world. The program, Plow to Plate is carried out by WCK, it is long-term commitment with the communities. The World Central Kitchen initiative is education. Sink to Stove, a program where school cooks are educated on food safety. It is important because this procedure ensures that school lunch is prepared with precautions and 100% safety. École des Chefs is a culinary school. Chef Relief Training Program and Plow to Plate are also programs offered. The World Central Kitchen offers educational initiatives in efforts to educate other communities on food handling and providing those people with better opportunities, as well as lifestyles.
