My name is Jose Hasing and I live in Queens. I am currently pursuing a degree in hospitality management, in the culinary arts field. Ive always had a passion for food ever since I was young. Living in Queens your exposed to so many different cultures and so many different types of restaurants. I want to open up my own restaurant in the future, one that will blow up, make it international one day. I got into the culinary arts field when i transferred to Long Island city high school, where they offered a culinary class. In that class we learned to make all different types of pastries, cakes and breads and deserts. We competed in tournaments around the city in which we were given a time limit to complete a certain dish sort of like the show Iron Chef without the high tech kitchen. Although i only attended that high school for a couple of months I learned alot and became very interested in Culinary arts.

George has always been an active member of his community and has participated in many local charitable events such as C.H.I.P.S. soup kitchen, and the St. Augustine food pantry. George also has shown interest in starting a clothing line and has made an entrance into the industry with a jewelry brand called Maraud. My name isĀ Kervin Mathieu andĀ I came to City Tech because I was looking for a major dealing with culinary. I wanted to pursue a culinary profession because I believe I am very motivated to do so. It all started with watching my mother cooking in the kitchen and ever since then the rest has been history. Iāve been cooking for myself, friends, family, and even parties. I was born in Boston, Massachusettes but my family is native to the country of Haiti. I have a number of different dishes I can prepare so I think that is one of the skills that make me very versatile. So far I would have to say my greatest accomplishment in life is graduating high school. Other interests I have are sports and music when Iām not occupied with school work or hanging out. At this point in life I believe school play a bigger role than it has ever has because it determines what you can or will be. I believe I will be doing something that has to do with culinary not only because I love it but because Iām good at it.

It began in Guyana, South America where he was born. Reyon attended a series of private schools before entering into the public school system.
For years he managed to stay at the top of his class receiving the highest honors and medals of achievement at the end of every term up until he migrated to the United States in September of 2004 upon which he attended Maggie L Walker Middle School. This is when he started to fall behind. At first, it wasn’t anything significant but after a while, the lack of focus began to show. Reyon’s report card started to look like the interstate highway speed limit. He graduated middle school and was accepted into Louis D Brandeis high School. He started off strong and then after a while of being too socially involved, it was back to doing the interstate speed limit. still having the wit and charisma that Carried him through middle school, Reyon excelled socially but soon fell behind academically. He went from receiving high honor certificates to promotion in doubt letters. It was time for a change. Something had to give.
Reyon started putting in tons extra hours in his assignments and studies. The turning point at last. It began to show. Astonished teachers sang his praises as he rose to the top. And on June 26th 2011, it all paid off. It was a bright sunny day at Columbia university’s beautiful auditorium where it seemed as if his name echoed through the room in a melodious hum. Reyon Gittens. Cheers bellowed from the crowd as he made his way to the stage. He did it. He graduated. In spite of all that went wrong, he pulled through. And now it was time for the last leg of the race. Reyon was accepted into New York City College of Technology where he decided to major in Hospitality Management.
His goal in this major is to excel in culinary arts and receive the qualifications and truing to be the owner, proprietor and chef of his very own restaurant. And with a little extra effort like the one needed to make it through high school, Reyon will succeed.
