This article talks about different victims mostly African Americans  that were abused by police officers that led to death.Black Americans are disproportionately targeted by police who routinely abuse, beat, shoot, and kill them without consequence since police exist to enforce systemic racism. They also talk about how police officers should be punished for it. “When broken down by race, the numbers do not support the idea of an evil racist system in which black people are oppressed and threatened by police.”stated in the article there’s numbers of how many crimes, violations, murders black people and that’s why police officers treat them more worse because us black people are more dangerous to the society. But numbers shouldn’t mean anything because anyone can do it besides black people. This article could benefit me in unit 2 essay because it talks about black people being targeted the most in police brutality and it could answer my essay question which is “Why is there racial bias in policing and what is being done . This article both talks about why might police target black people more and treat others different whether the situation is minor or serious. Also what should be done to punish these police officers for unnecessary behavior and conduct towards the black community and people in general. Almost all these recent incidents were on black people that didn’t deserve to get treated that way to the point where the person dies.

“These numbers do not speak to the un- derlying reasons why America sees dis- proportionate violence, rape, and murder committed by black men in particular and black people in general — when the differences between the white popula- tion (61-percent white, non-Hispanic and 13.4-percent black) is taken into consid- eration.”

“Because of unchecked police violence, police depart- ments should be defunded and abolished — or at the very least be held accountable to “civilian review boards” or the federal government.”
