After reading Marriage: An Investigation it was definitely very interesting for me. Personally because I did recently get married over our semester break. Which is the reason why I also chose this article because it intrigued me to see what this article had to say about marriages. I noticed in the article the author explains many different facts between single people and married people. Also the message the author sends out that I took from the article is that marriage isn’t so important now-a-days. Which is very understandable because in our society many of our young people grow up with the mindset of becoming someone in life. Meaning first they want to finish their education, get a job and then later on worry about marriage and having a family. Which is why many people nowadays are really doing not only the young but also adults.

However, I also noticed how the author compares single people’s lives and married people’s lives. Which I personally think cannot be compared mostly because they’re both two different lives. A single person’s life they just need to worry about themselves and do what makes them happy. Meaning they obviously are more social, have more friends, and know more about their communities just like the author said in his article. Although, marriage life is completely different, we don’t have so much friends, and we obviously aren’t so social and we obviously sometimes don’t know what’s going on in our community. Therefore in a marriage life we are committed to our partner and to our family because that’s what became more important to us. Instead of going out with our friends, which is why we don’t have so much friends neither are we so social. Also sometimes you get caught up with our kids and partner and forget about the outside world. Lastly, I personally enjoy my marriage life of course it’s completely different from my single life but that’s ok with me. Mostly because I enjoy it and I have always been ready to commit to my kid and my partner and always put my little family first then anything.
