I did not create a script for my expose video, because I want my delivery to be as natural as possible and not robotic. However, I’ve created an outline on what I want to discuss, and what images and/or videos I want to include.

Introduction

  1. Introduce myself and the topic I will discuss.
  2. Give a general overview of what American schools teach children regarding Northern History in a point of view where I pretend to believe it.
  3. Include another point of view that goes against the one I originally claimed.
  4. Set foreshadowing as to what will be talked about in the video

 Whitewashed Lies

  1. Explain how slavery was taught in schools, the difference between the north and south.
  2. Introduce the truth of slavery in the north. (Provide sources; images and/or videos)
  3. Give background to segregation.
  4. Discuss where it originated and the North’s stance on it. (Provide sources; images and/or videos)

Conclusion

  1. Brief summary on what was talked about during video
  2. Include my insight on what was explained.
  3. Consider how it is detrimental to young black kids and why it needs to change.

Mentor Text

D’Angelo Wallace is a commentary Youtuber. The premise of his videos surround the drama that exist on the platform. I would say his audience consists of high schoolers to college students. Although he discusses Youtube drama, I do believe that he would be interested in my topic, solely because it’s commentary based as well.

His commentary videos are lengthy, so it’s similar to a documentary. He breaks down each video into different parts. He starts from the beginning and ends with the present. Because he is so detailed in his videos, its really enjoyable to watch because he isn’t missing anything important and it allows his viewers to fully grasp what’s being discussed.

He uses any type of source that is relevant to the video he’s making. If he wants to touch up on a point, he’ll mainly include videos of the person he’s talking about. Or if the situation is based on he say she say, he provides tweets, text messages, screenshots, etc.
