Proposal

While writing my essay for unit 2 I learned that in order for a relationship to successed love has to be center of the relationship because if not then your heart will eventually get broken and cause you to be bitter and label everyone else as heart breakers.  And the way that I learned about how to have a successful relationship I would like for all the youths to learn what I learned because the trend today is that everyone wants to have a relationship  but are afraid to have one because their hearts have been broken before and now all boys/girls are heart breakers.  The genre that I think that would best reach the youth is Ted Talks because thats how I was able to learn from people who actually take the time to explain things and understand what is going one. Youths like myself like to listen to people who experience things and talks about things that people around us don’t normally talk  about. I intend to start sharing my genre by using the content that was used in my essay then I plan on using more Ted Talks to show as a collaboration to give the youth enough options to hear what they need to hear to help them with their love lives.

For Wednesday, Oct 14 (re-post!)

Note: this is the same assignment posted below, but it’s important, so I wanted to bring it to the top! Due by Noon on Wednesday, Oct 14 :

Please note: even though classes on Wednesday  follow a Monday schedule, we will have a required class at the regular time on Weds!

WRITE: Write a blog post (at least 400 words) in which you introduce your research question (remember to get it approved by me first!) You must cover all of the questions in bold. Answer in paragraph form. :

  • Why are you interested in this question?  (Feel free to talk about your own personal experience with the topic, or to tell an anecdote about your experience with this subject matter)
  • What do you expect to find in your research? (Why do you expect to find this?)
  • What will you do if you find information that goes completely against what you had expected to find? (Will you throw it out? Will you write about it anyway? Will you challenge your own assumptions?)
  • What genres do you think might give you good information? (What is it about those genres that make them good potential sources?) Please make sure you have read the Kerry Dirk article for Friday, Oct 9 to answer this properly!

Spend some time on this– because this will serve as the first draft of the introduction for your annotated bibliography! Keep a copy for your final draft!

Please use the category: Bibliography Intro RD (this will automatically categorize in Unit 2 as well, but it will make these easier to find when it’s time for you to put your whole report together.)

Genre

A genre that i know well is comedy. And comedy is something that you see more on stage which is meant to make people happy.  And according to google it happens to have a lot of rhetorical features such as “characterization, stereotype character, flat character, round character, static character , dynamic character, foil character, “and many more. Comedy is something that people need in their every day lives and it is something that can either be done intentionally or not. I learned the rules of this genre while watching comedy shows such as fresh prince of bel air , the parkers and living single. I also learned the rules about this genre through “Navigating Genres” by Kerry Dirk.  In the text he said something that my attention about genres in general and he said knowing what a genre is used for can help people to “accomplish goals, whether that goal be getting a job by knowing how
to write a stellar resume, winning a person’s heart by writing a romantic love letter, or getting into college by writing an effective personal statement.” and also on the text he mentions how comedy is done” Possibly without even thinking about it, or you were recognizing the rhetorical situation of your action and choosing to act in a manner that would result in the outcome you desired. “
