Mentor Text!!

1: Shleyner, Eddie. “How to Write Absolutely Addictive Articles.” HubSpot Blog, blog.hubspot.com/marketing/how-to-write-addictive-articles.

2: The audience of this mentor text is mostly students like his school and college students. They would be interested in it because this historical event has had important accomplishments and how it saved America during its dark time.

3: The writer hooked the readers by introducing little about himself but as a third person and like how he started by saying that “In 1986, Joe Sugarman, a direct response copywriter, wrote a print ad for BluBlocker Sunglasses. The ad helped an iconic brand take root. It also made him rich”. I learned from this hook is that how he already put curiosity in people’s minds by his abilities and that’s making readers more interesting that what would happen next.

4: Yes they are using a format that includes the introduction and then stated points that would make readers addicted, they also posted a picture of an article. And I think this would absolutely help me because it has all the steps that a person needs to write an article.

Annoying ways people use resources

As per my understanding after reading this source by Kyle Stedman, he basically saying that how students or just writers, in general, do not really use quotation or I would say “forget” to simplify in their own words. They just paraphrase what the author says and don’t define it in their own words. Like how Stedman has said on page 253 that “when I believe I’m not patchwriting, I am simply doing is so expertly that seams are no longer visible” and one more ” I understand that I couldn’t tell…..I swear I did some research! see? here’s a citation right here!”These quotes define how they simply re-write whatever the author has already written and said that they didn’t “re-write” if they have a cite but that’s not enough. People have to put their own interpretations too and just putting quotes at the end Doesn’t really prove their writing and did consider plagiarism. There are two of my favorite quotes that I want to use but I just use one from the article about how high taxes were really killing minorities that “New Deal taxes were major job destroyers during the 1930s, prolonging unemployment that averaged 17%. Higher business taxes meant that employers had less money for growth and jobs.” This quote is one of my favorites because it defines how minorities and colored people were targeted in this deal and rich “privileged” people didn’t really have to worried about anything. It made me sad that they were the ones who had to pay taxes on pretty much everything and yet didn’t receive benefits compare to whites and minorities still got low wages than whites whereas they’ve done more work.

Proposal!

The things that I want to teach my audience are like the how to fight the fear, mass of unemployment and how a person can achieve anything through experience tools and experiments. New deal was the solution of many problems and it helped the country to back up its economy. I want to them to know about how FDR had really difficult time and how he overcame it. what was the reason for stock market to crash?

The audience the I’m trying to reach are probably the teen like high school students mostly because they are the one who really need to know what had happened in the history.

The genre that I’m planning write is an article probably because this could be interesting for teen to read that can include an incomplete storyline and maki more interesting like that. And if we I use variety of different structures that would make them interesting too I think.

Th plan that I’ll follow is the first I collect all the research that I did and second I look up the structures of various articles that how they should be written liKe their pattern and everything and third I need to put all the resources and citations and pictures too according to my topic so if they want to know more they would through them.

I’m mostly worry about my audience that will they like my topic, found it interesting or no. Did I follow all the steps that needs to be done for an article and do I need to keep it simple or make it like really advanced.
